Dear colleagues and friends,

It is my pleasure to invite you to the 2nd International Symposium of SAIHST, Sungkyunkwan University, on December 3, 2026. This year's theme is "Physical AI in Medicine: From Recognition and Reasoning to Embodied Intelligence."

AI that once helped us read images and support decisions is now gaining a body and beginning to act in the operating room. Through two keynote lectures and five sessions, 12 leading researchers from Korea, the US, Europe and Asia will present the frontier of this change, from surgical video analysis and medical foundation models to surgical robots and clinical translation.

I especially hope this symposium will help graduate students and early-career researchers find new directions where medicine and engineering meet.
